Earlier this month we revealed that Red Bull would be doing its 30 days in LA, where a different artist is featured each day in November. Well, the month is almost over and Her Hip Hop had the chance to see Day 29th’s show with Los Angeles Native, YG. This being his hometown, it was only right that he brought out surprise guests and performed some of his most popular songs from is growing catalog.
Toronto rapper, Tasha the Amazon, opened the show to a packed out crowd. She had a dope sound and a good stage presence. Most of her songs consisted of heavy bass beats and full 16 bars to match her slightly raspy voice. She ended her set with a song from her new album “Die Every Day“, which had a good reception with the audience.
Finding Novyon came out with a blaze of neon green and purple lighting. This was the second time the Minneapolis rapper perform for Red Bull’s 30 days in LA. Last year he opened up for Big Sean; so it was only right he would open again for another major artist this year, and who better than YG.
Speaking of the man of the night, YG finally hit the stage carried out on a hospital bed rapping, “Who Shot Me?”. He performed various tracks from “My Krazy Life” and “Still Brazy”. He brought out fellow Los Angeles rapper RJ to perform, “Get Rich”. And a while later he brought out his day one friend, DJ Mustard and went into his hit song “Who Do You Love”. Mustard was YG’s original DJ and while the two have had their differences in the past, it was good to see them reunite again as brothers. Several times during the show, YG stated that this was the F*** Donald Trump Tour. He even invited 6 fans on stage to hit a Donald Trump piñata before going into the “F*** Donald Trump” song and bringing out his final guest, G-Eazy.
If you missed any of the 30 shows that Red Bull had to offer, no worries they will be back. Unfortunately, you will have to wait until next year to see what the mega energy drink company has to offer. However if it was anything like this year they will not disappoint.
