Soundz continues to show and prove not only in the music industry but also in fashion. The producer best known for tracks like Rae Sremmurd and Nick Minaj’s hit song, “Throw Sum Mo”, recently tapped into being an artist himself. On 4/20, Soundz held a pop up shop for his new clothing line Au and a listening party for his latest body of work “Aquaman” which includes artists such as Justin Bieber, King Combs, Jeremih, and many more. Soundz took over DOPE and gave a first listen on his upcoming project that got the crowd jumpin. The hit maker producer played several tracks to a packed room of celebrities, influencers and industry key holders. Soundz said of refocusing on his own music after taking a break,
“I wanted to bring out all the special people and let them listen to what I have going on. I took a break from making my own music, working on everyone else’s stuff, but now its been a great vibe being in my own space, finally letting people hear what I’ve been doing on my own and I’m excited about that!”
Guests attending the event included Diggy Simmons son of Hip-Hop legend Rev Run of Run DMC, Skate Maloley, Maestro Harrell, Skinny From The 9, Big Nik, and fellow producer Dom to name a few.
Also jumping with both feet into fashion, Soundz started Au, which is named after the chemical element symbol for Gold. The urban clothing line for men and women will feature an array hats, sweatpants and graphic tees. Partnering the clothing line with the DOPE store makes perfect sense because Fairfax Ave is epicenter and most sought after location for the latest street wear.
In true 4/20 fashions, bud was provided by marijuana dispensary Bears Vibes. Guests were excited that the company was raffling off two big containers of weed to the person who could guess how many grams were inside! Attendees grubbed on Jamaican inspired jerk shrimp, chicken, and salmon prepared by Chef Jae of Chef Preps.
