Good live music and open mic spots are hard to find. At least when it comes to good quality ones. However, Her Hip Hop knows of the perfect one to feed any appetite of music. The Study located at 6356 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood has found the right combination because Unplugd LA features an array of different newly signed and indie artists and it just works. Up and coming artists are famously unrated but finally have a platform to perform and share their talents.
Completing the sound with not only a DJ but a live full band, Unplugd LA brings out raw artists that clearly fills a void in this area of music. With a nice blend of Hip Hop, Soul, and R&B, it makes for the perfect night out for live music lovers. But guests are in for much more when attending this new additive to Hollywood. Poetry and spoken word is also incorporated into the show, giving the authentic vibe found at traditional open mics as well as poetry slams. Along with drink specials, food and the ambiance of the location and you will find yourself doing finger snaps all night long!
This week’s show featured up and coming artists worth taking a closer look at. London soul singer, J-Sol (@jsooworld) hit the stage and literally brought down the house with his amazing vocals and high range. He definitely has something special and is well on his way to a successful career. Another great artist went by the name of Christina (@iamchrismusic) who has a sound that has yet to be exposed in the music industry. For this reason, music needs more places like this. Artists need a spot where they can get exposure and people can support in the name of good music. There is so much good talent out that gets overlooked but not anymore.
